About This Site

The About This Site feature helps visitors quickly learn what it is you have to offer.

Every visitor enters each new web site they encounter with the question "What's in it for me?" uppermost on their mind.

We Net users are an impatient bunch, and we want this question answered pronto, because we're only a few clicks away from greener pastures.


What's This Site Good For Anyway?

Let's give our visitors a summary of what we have to offer right up front, at the top of every page.

The "About This Site" button is placed at the top of every page to make it easy for visitors to quickly get an overview of what your site can do for them.

The About This Site button links to a page where readers can see a summary of what your site contains, and how it can help them.

We don't want our site to be one of those sites people leave because they find it confusing.

The About This Site feature helps our readers get to know us quickly.


Controls

Within your control panel, you can enter the text that will appear when users click the "About This Site" button.




You can also upload a headshot, or any other image, that will appear just over the About This Site button on every page.

Including the author's photo on a site helps personalize the presentation, and draws the reader in to the story.




If you later decide you want the button, but not the image, you can delete the image.






Turn It On, Turn It Off

If you don't want the About This Site feature, you can turn it off for all the pages of your site, by clicking one button in your control panel.




If you turn this feature off, the About This Site button vanishes from all of your pages.
